Hamilton will host the 2026 NRL Harvey Norman All Stars double-header for the first time on Sunday 15 February, bringing two blockbuster clashes to FMG Stadium Waikato.

The event will feature the Australian Indigenous Women’s All Stars taking on the New Zealand Māori Ferns, followed by the Australian Indigenous Men’s All Stars against the New Zealand Māori All Stars. The day will also include the Māori and Indigenous Touch Football teams. All matches promise fierce competition and a celebration of heritage and pride.

FMG Stadium Waikato Director Ben Slatter said this is more than a single day of action.

“This event is more than a game, it’s a unique opportunity to celebrate First Nations cultures and rugby league’s incredible diversity.

“This is an incredible opportunity to host such a prestigious fixture in a region with deep rugby league roots. Hamilton will be the centre of this cultural and sporting spectacle with both teams in town the week prior, fans can look forward to a full week of celebrations.”

Hamilton Mayor Tim Macindoe said the announcements reinforce the city’s reputation for hosting world-class events.

“Fantastic news that Hamilton and New Zealand have secured this special NRL fixture. It’s great for our city’s vibrancy and economy, and no surprise given our cultural heritage and reputation for hosting world-class sport. With direct flights now connecting Hamilton with Australia, we look forward to welcoming our neighbours and showcasing all we have to offer.”

Also announced today are two Warriors NRLW home games at FMG Stadium Waikato in July and August 2026.

This follows a record-breaking year for women’s rugby league in Hamilton, with FMG Stadium Waikato attracting some of the largest NRLW crowds in 2025 – a key factor in securing these fixtures.
