Bridge to Homegrown FAQs

What is Bridge to Homegrown?

Bridge to Homegrown is a one-day transformation of Claudelands Bridge into a pedestrian-only connection between Hamilton’s CBD and Jim Beam Homegrown at Claudelands Oval. It’s designed as a public activation and safe walking link to the festival.


When is it happening?

Saturday 14 March

• Closed to vehicles: 6am Saturday 14 March until 3am Sunday 15 March

• Open to the public: From 10am Saturday 14 March

• Activity schedule: Coming soon


Do I need a Jim Beam Homegrown ticket to attend?

No. The bridge activation is open to everyone, whether you’re heading to the festival or just coming to enjoy the atmosphere.


How long is the walk?

A short 10–15 minute walk from the CBD to Claudelands Oval.


Are scooters allowed?

No. Lime scooters and other e-scooters are not permitted on the bridge during the activation.


Is there an alcohol ban?

Yes. An alcohol ban will be in place across the Bridge to Homegrown activation area. Alcohol is not permitted on the bridge.


How will safety be managed?

Event staff and security will be present throughout the day and evening to manage crowd flow and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.


Where can I find updates?

Full programme details and transport information will be shared soon through the Homegrown app, official Homegrown and city channels.


Will there be lighting at night?

Yes. Appropriate lighting will be in place to ensure safe pedestrian access after dark.


Is there an age restriction?

No. Bridge to Homegrown is a public event and open to all ages. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.


Is there food available?

Yes. There will be food vendors as part of the activation. Full details on vendors and timings will be included in the event schedule once released.


Is it wheelchair friendly?

Yes. The bridge is accessible for wheelchairs, mobility scooters and prams, and remains a flat, pedestrian-friendly connection throughout the event. Event staff will also be on hand if assistance is needed.
